Why ours last
Our van is at the Manhattan flower market four mornings a week. We buy small and often instead of holding large stock, which means the bouquet you order on Thursday was cut for us on Wednesday night. Nothing sits in a bucket for a fortnight waiting to be sold.
That is the entire secret, and it is why we guarantee five days of vase life on everything that leaves the shop. It costs us more in labor and in trips across the river. It is the difference between flowers that are still beautiful next weekend and flowers that are in the bin by Sunday.
Flower delivery
Our own vans and our own drivers, right across western Queens — Woodside, Sunnyside, Astoria, Jackson Heights, Elmhurst, Maspeth and Long Island City. Every delivery is photographed on arrival and the picture is sent to you.
Occasions
You do not have to know what a spray rose is. Tell us who it is for and what has happened, and a designer will choose from what is genuinely good this morning.
Weddings & events
A wedding is not an order, it is a project with one immovable date. We take about thirty a year because taking a fortieth would mean doing all thirty-nine slightly worse.
The first hour is free and has no obligation attached. Bring photographs, the venue name and a realistic number, and we will tell you honestly whether your budget and your mood board are the same wedding. That conversation is worth more than any proposal document.
Recent work

Somebody at your office is currently remembering to order flowers, and that person has better things to do. Same day each week, vessels swapped, old stems taken away, one invoice a month. No contract.

Storefronts along Roosevelt Avenue, residential lobbies, restaurant windows and houses whose owners have decided a ladder in December is no longer for them. We install it, maintain it and take it down in January.
In the neighborhood
They called the funeral home themselves and confirmed the chapel time. I was in no state to organize anything and they simply took it off me.
Our lobby has had fresh flowers every Monday for four years. In four years they have missed one week, and that was the blizzard.
I asked for designer's choice with a budget and got the best bouquet anyone has ever sent me. I have never gone back to picking flowers myself.
They talked us out of about two thousand dollars of centerpieces we did not need and put it into the ceremony instead. The photographs are extraordinary.
Questions
Woodside Floral & Decoration is a fictional business. This website is a demonstration of what can be designed, provisioned and hosted through MaiaHost — the shop, its staff and the customer comments here are invented, and every telephone number on the site is a placeholder.
Yes. Order by 1:00 pm Monday to Friday, or by 11:00 am on Saturday, and your flowers are delivered that afternoon anywhere in our same-day zone across western Queens — Woodside, Sunnyside, Astoria, Jackson Heights, Elmhurst, Maspeth and Long Island City.
Our everyday bouquets start at $65 and most people spend between $95 and $145. Roses start at $120 a dozen. Weddings are quoted individually and typically land between $6,000 and $14,000. Every price on this site is what you pay — delivery is shown separately and nothing is added at checkout.
We buy four mornings a week at the Manhattan flower market on 28th Street, plus direct from a handful of growers in New Jersey and the Hudson Valley in season. We buy small and often rather than holding large stock, which is why our flowers last.
We guarantee five days of vase life in fresh water on everything we make, and most arrangements go well beyond that. Change the water every two days, re-cut the stems at an angle, and keep them out of direct sun and away from the fruit bowl — ripening fruit gives off ethylene and will kill a bouquet in a day.
Every day. We know the delivery entrances and visiting hours at the Queens hospitals and we confirm chapel times with funeral homes directly. Note that intensive-care and some oncology units will not accept fresh flowers; if a ward turns a delivery away, we hold it and re-deliver free.

Call the shop and speak to a designer, or send us the details and we will call you back within the hour. We will tell you what is genuinely beautiful today rather than what a photograph promised in March.
